Good Morning

I long to share this tranquil place with you to articulate the splendour of waking up amidst the countryside. I yearn to convey the delicate melodies of the Australian bush, the fragrance of gardenias mingled with the dampness of morning dew. The serenity of the landscape unfolding outside our bedroom window, accompanied by the jovial laughter of kookaburras echoing through the open air, beckons contemplation.

Is this the essence of our intended existence? Away from the clamour and pollution of the city amidst the gentle embrace of nature’s tranquillity.

As I gaze upon Bella the horse, peacefully grazing in the field, amidst the gumtrees and tiny blue wrens flitting about, I am struck by the vitality of the natural world. It merely requires a moment of pause, a chance to listen and absorb. What a profound experience for a weary soul seeking solace.

Do the birds of the air comprehend the beauty that surrounds them? Their cheerful chirping suggests they might indeed. Their melodies seem to resonate with the rhythm of the land, as if they understand the profound privilege of their existence amidst such splendour. In their songs, perhaps, lies the wisdom of simplicity and the joy of being present in the moment.

As the morning sun casts its golden hues across the landscape, illuminating the contours of the earth and painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, I am reminded of the preciousness of this fleeting moment. It is a reminder to cherish the quiet moments, to find solace in the whispers of nature, and to seek refuge in the embrace of simplicity. Here I find a sanctuary for my weary soul, a place where time seems to stand still and worries dissipate like mist in the morning sun.

As I take in the sights and sounds that surround me, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude—for the beauty that envelops me, for the peace that resides within, and for the simple joy of being alive in this moment. And as I sit here, immersed in the beauty of the countryside, I cannot help but wonder: perhaps this is the way we were meant to live – in harmony with nature, in tune with the rhythms of the earth, and in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.

Tears rolled down my cheeks because I think this is what we are called upon to notice and sometimes don’t. I have been thinking the challenge for all of us too is to notice the beautiful in what does not appear so. Lovely writing….
